## The fix

1. Download the official Microsoft Visual C++ 2015–2022 Redistributable (x64) from Microsoft's own site.

2. Run it, reboot if asked, then launch Kiln again. The DLL errors go away.

## Never download loose DLLs

Sites offering single vcruntime140.dll downloads are malware slot machines. The DLL belongs to a Microsoft package — install the package.
