## What a run page holds

A run page is the lab's long-form verdict on one game: the status it earned, the frame rate that held at 1080p, the settings that held it, and the issues still open. One-line notes for every other graded title live on [the compat lab](/bench).

Every number comes from [one reference rig](/lab/reference-rig) under the rules in [how we grade](/lab/how-we-grade). Stable played start to finish in the lab. Beta reaches gameplay and names its caveats in plain words.

Your PC writes its own numbers. Check the [minimum rig](/rig/minimum-rig) before you hold a run page to a frame rate.

## Where to start

Fresh install? Boot [Astro Bot](/run/astro-bot-ps5-emulator) first. It is Stable at 60 fps and asks nothing exotic of your setup. If it still stutters once the first-launch shaders are built, the problem is the PC, not the game — work through [boost fps](/lab/boost-fps).

Read the caveats before you press Start. [Monster Hunter Wilds](/run/monster-hunter-wilds-ps5-emulator) drops under 30 fps in sandstorms on the lab rig itself, and [Marvel's Wolverine](/run/marvels-wolverine-ps5-emulator) stutters until its shader cache fills. Both are Stable.

## Before any run boots

1. Get [the Windows installer](/download): emulator and launcher, no firmware, no games.

2. Download the official PS5UPDATE.PUP from Sony's PS5 system software page, then File then Install Firmware.

3. Press Boot system software, add the games you own, pick a run, and press Start.

Windows asking for vcruntime140.dll? Install the official Microsoft Visual C++ 2015–2022 x64 runtime, never a loose DLL. The fix is on [missing runtime](/lab/missing-runtime).

## FAQ

### What is a run page?

The lab's full write-up for one game on Kiln: status, 1080p frame rate, the settings that held it, and known issues, all from the reference rig.

### My game has no run page. Does it work?

Maybe. Run pages are written one title at a time. Graded titles without one still carry a status, fps, and note on the compat lab sheet; ungraded launcher titles sit at Test.

### Will my PC hit the fps on a run page?

Not automatically. Run-page numbers are 1080p results from one RTX 3070 desktop. A weaker CPU or GPU, an old driver, or a slow disk all cost frames; run the boost fps checklist first.
