Kiln does not host, bundle, or modify the PUP. It cannot — the file is Sony's, and your install must come from Sony's official page.
No console-modding tools, no key files, no disc-copying guides, no PUP mirrors. Anything offering firmware outside Sony's page is a trap.
If the PUP fails to install, re-download it from Sony. A truncated download is the usual cause — check the file size against Sony's page.
The PUP is the console's own system software. Kiln installs it the way RPCS3, shadPS4, and Kyty-style emulators do: user-supplied, official, unmodified.
After install, Boot system software brings up the PS5 home. That booted state is what games launch from.
Glossary version: firmware PUP.
From Sony's official PS5 system software page. Kiln never hosts or bundles it — download it yourself, then File then Install Firmware.
No. Official file from Sony's page only. Third-party PUPs are untrusted and often broken or malicious.
Re-download the PUP from Sony — truncated downloads are the usual cause. Then run File then Install Firmware again.

Firmware installed? Press Boot system software. The log confirms [BOOT] and the PS5 home comes up.
PS5UPDATE.PUP is Sony's official system software. You get it from Sony, Kiln installs it, games boot from it.
One setup file, 64-bit Windows 10 or 11. The installer gives you the emulator and the launcher — nothing else.
Yes. Kiln ships zero games and explains zero ways to get them. You run the library you already own.

Install Firmware with your own PS5UPDATE.PUP, boot the system software, then start a game you own.
