The Windows installer should start on its own. If the browser stays quiet, use the button. You get the emulator and the desktop launcher. 01

Run the installer

Open Kiln-setup.exe. If Windows blocks the first launch, run it as administrator and allow the app when asked. Install the current 64-bit Microsoft Visual C++ runtime if the installer asks for it.

02

Install Firmware

File → Install Firmware, then pick your own copy of PS5UPDATE.PUP: the official file from Sony’s PS5 system software page, the same one you would use to update your console over USB. It is not bundled with Kiln.

03

Boot system software

File → Boot system software. Kiln starts it and the PS5 home comes up, ready for your library.

04

Add games you own

File → Add games for folders of games you already have. Connect a DualSense or Xbox pad, or use the keyboard, then pick a cover and press Start. Check each title’s lab status first.
